Il Globo is a bi-weekly newspaper published in Melbourne, offering a “rich assortment of news and information” for the local Italian community. Recently they launched the Eureka! page to address cultural and social issues of interest for a younger audience (20s/30s). On their May 1st page they talk about revitalising empty urban spaces through art, pop up stores and other activities…
The article discusses the work of Renew Australia and instant retail / popUPshopsMelbourne in the field of local pop ups. Our own translation is a bit sketchy – but we loved one of their final comments :
“in a world where everything changes quickly, where everything must be brief and entertainment, pop-up stores seem to fit perfectly to the rhythms of our times…”
